About the Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship
The Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championships, sponsored by Stewarts Creek High School Band is one of Tennessee's most exciting marching band events.
Founded in 1980, the Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship is an educational performance opportunity open to all high school bands with a total school enrollment of 1000 students of less, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship is a culminating music and pageantry event, one that band fans from across Tennessee travel to for the exciting and creative performances by some of the finest band programs in Tennessee.
The Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championships is a one-day, Preliminary, Finals event, held in Red Hawk Stadium. Bands receive recorded evaluation from panels of leading educators and marching experts, along with written score sheets.
Up to twenty-eight bands perform in a preliminary, open-class competition. The top 10 scoring bands from the preliminary round advance to Saturday evening’s finals.Per the contest by-laws, the Tennessee Division II State Marching Band Championship shall be held on the first Saturday of November.
